In the Endeavour Tourbillon Fumé, the core values of this exceptional watch manufacturer are captured and incorporated into one magnificent wristwatch. Beautiful in its form, pure in its aesthetics and majestic with its most noble complication, it’s classical Haute Horlogerie watchmaking served up with Moser’s signature cool and contemporary twist.
From its Schaffhausen manufactory the family owned H. Moser & Cie. has been making its presence felt over the past decade in the crowded world of luxury watches. Combining styling which is somehow understated yet still highly distinctive, toned-down detailing where less equals more, and sophisticated in house manufacture mechanicals with beautiful and meticulous hand finishing, this fine old marque, with almost two centuries of history, today boasts a thoroughly contemporary portfolio of quite superb Swiss made wristwatches.
The Endeavour Tourbillon Fumé encapsulates all of these H. Moser codes to spectacular effect; its unpolluted aesthetics and cool modern design the backdrop for a heartbeat which defines Haute Horlogerie.
Beneath the subtly domed sapphire crystal the dial is dominated by the large round opening where the tourbillon beats a graceful sixty-second cycle; its twin necks opposing each other providing the anchorage for the double hairsprings which are a Moser signature. The smoky colour of the fumé dial plays with the light in its metallic sunray finish, and without a single marker or branding of any kind is outstanding in its pure and minimalist effect. The oxidised blued steel hands are long and elegant leaf style, and taper to a fine point, complementing what is overall a piece of remarkable beauty.
The contours of its round 42mm case of gleaming white gold flow seamlessly through its sculpted curves, and from its lugs to the signed cupcake crown, it is immaculately manufactured and finished by hand.
Through a sapphire caseback the in-house HMC 804 automatic movement is a testament to the company’s innovative approach to watchmaking as well as its uncompromising standards of workmanship, with its proprietary modular tourbillon a signature of the H. Moser Haute Horlogerie. A solid gold oscillating weight spins silently with every move, above perlage and brushed Geneva stripes, as it maintains the three-day power reserve.
Taking what it means to be ‘Swiss Made’ to almost obsessive levels, H. Moser insists that over 95% of the components, if not manufactured in-house, are at the very least sourced from local artisans.
The H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Tourbillon Fumé is a superb luxury men’s timepiece and it’s presented on a light tan kudo leather strap with folding clasp.
