With a dial which literally shimmers like a clear and starry night sky, H. Moser & Cie introduces a new and transformative element to its beautiful minimalist series of pure and unspoiled wristwatches in the exquisite Endeavor Perpetual Moon Concept Aventurine.
An independent and obsessively Swiss watch company which relentlessly pushes the technical and stylistic parameters of watchmaking and design in the pursuit of perfection, and for the individual who values elegance, sophistication and sheer, simple beauty, the Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept is pretty close to that.
The polished stainless steel 42mm case is outstanding in its simplicity, with its lovely cupcake crown and soft, contoured lines which flow from the round case to the tips of its lugs in a singular graceful sweep. Curvaceous and immaculate it is so distinctive that even without even so much as a hint of branding on its dial, the Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept Aventurine is unmistakably Moser.
The sapphire crystal is subtly domed, and beneath it the aventurine dial is completely unspoiled by any conventional hour markings, so throughout the deep, dark glassy blue, hundreds of tiny embedded metallic particle inclusions sparkle and glint with every motion of the wrist. It is very beautiful, and its celestial nature is the perfect complement to the generous moon phase display, where a matching blue disc passes over a silvery moon in a round aperture. The hours and minutes hands are the signature slender Moser leaf shape which taper to fine points, with a fine pointer for the seconds. A fourth hand is much less obvious, but the tiny bud at the centre indicates the 24-hour day/night.
On the underside, a sapphire caseback reveals the uncompromising hand finishing which is applied to every component of the superb Calibre 801 hand winding movement which ticks within. Entirely manufactured in house, what resides beneath that spartan dial side is a complex and beautifully executed piece of Haute Horlogerie, whose perpetual calendar and moon phase is so precise it requires a manual correction only once in 1,027 years, and can be set via to a single minute. The movement features several H. Moser innovations, including interchangeable escapement module, and screw calibrated balance with Straumann Double Hairspring beating at a leisurely 18’000 vib/h, and double barrel which provides power for a minimum of seven days.
In its striking but minimalist design, and with that incredible dial, the H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Perpetual Moon Concept Aventurine is an exceptional contemporary wristwatch which is somehow understated yet spectacular, profoundly complex yet austere, and with production limited to only fifty pieces in stainless steel, a piece of great beauty which is as exclusive as it is eye catching.
