Displaying remarkable maturity both in its design and technical architecture, the Prologue Chapitre 1 watch is an exceptional debut piece for Guebly, a company founded five years ago by collector, Adnane Kerd. Crafted by Voutilanen and Cattin SA, the case is manufactured from Grade 5 Titanium, and measures 42mm diameter, with a height of 10.56mm. Enhanced with satin-finishing, its unexpected angles give it a sporty personality, and it carries a broad tapering bezel, a neatly tucked in grooved crown and a concave caseback fitted with concave sapphire crystal.
The dial, also by Voutilanen and Cattin SA exhibits clean styling throughout, with partially openworked hours and minutes hands, and a retrograde seconds on the lower dial. Rendered in deep blue, with a subtle finish that emanates from the centre, it is finished with a pad-printed chapter ring and a pad-printed scale on the retrograde seconds, leaving its flat silky surface wonderfully uncluttered.
Showcased through the caseback sapphire crystal, the muted grey of the titanium mainplate of the movement gives the calibre a modern aesthetic, and it contrasts superbly with resplendent gold micro rotor. Further inspection reveals immaculate hand finishing, with a trio of ‘7’ shaped chamfered bridges, and with soft grained texturing, snailing, perlage and high-polished techniques used to enhance the prestige of the movement. Beating at a rate of 28’800 vib/h, the COSC certified calibre derives a power reserve of 70 hours.
Limited on only 20 pieces, the Guebly Chapitre 1 watch is presented in a grained leather strap, secured with a titanium buckle.
