GRAHAM CHRONOFIGHTER VINTAGE GMT 2CVBC.U02A

Graham Chronofighter Vintage GMT 2CVBC.U02A

For over fifteen years, the Graham Chronofighter has become one of the most recognisable and distinctive watch models of our time. Its uncompromising design, coupled with excellent build quality, and the assurance of a reliable Swiss automatic movement has seen it evolve from a horologic curiosity to fully fledged cult watch series, with a global following among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

The Chronofighter’s most prominent feature, its signature, left-mounted ‘trigger’ assembly, which activates and stops the chronograph, is much more than a designer’s novelty, as its unique configuration stems from the joystick mounted firing or payload release mechanisms found inside the cockpit of wartime aircraft, where the same precision and unerring accuracy of deployment has been transferred and adapted to the Chronofighter.

With its 24-hour/second time zone function, the new Chronofighter Vintage GMT equips lovers of its unique and iconic design with the perfect watch with which to navigate their way around the world. The bi-directional black ceramic bezel provides the reference for the once in 24 hours sweep of the pronounced red arrow tipped GMT indicator, allowing it to be used either as a 24 hour watch, when the bezel is in its default position, or for knowing what time it is at home (or locally), when passing through various time zones.

The Chronofighter Vintage GMT features a 44mm polished stainless steel case, and beneath the slightly domed sapphire crystal, the dark blue sunbrushed dial is really eyecatching, and shimmers as the movement of the wrist captures and plays with the light. Graduated colouration means that it fades from dark to a light blue moving from its outer edge towards the centre.

Hour indices and the single numeral 6 are coated in powerful Super LumiNova for clear low light reading, and they make way for the two recessed black snailed subdials with polished steel rims at the 3 and the 9, which contain the small constant seconds and the 30-minutes chronograph counter respectively. Steel hands are also filled with the luminous material and the chrono seconds pointer is distinguished with red tip.  Finally, the large windows at the 12 effectively display the date.

Inside beats the Swiss made G1733 automatic self winding movement, which can be appreciated through the sapphire exhibition caseback. Fully wound the movement will run for 48 hours, although of course, any movement on the wrist keeps the power reserve topped up.

The hand sewn blue calfskin leather strap with pin buckle feels smooth and soft, and ensures a luxuriously comfortable wear on the wrist.
