GOS NORDIC SEASONS SPRING

Hand-crafted throughout, the GoS Nordic Seasons Spring watch displays a stunning hand-forged dial, which recalls the first vibrant rays of Spring-time sunshine in the skies above Scandinavia.  An emotive and spirited piece, this is a wristwatch for the collector who has a penchant for uniqueness and meticulous craftsmanship.

The creative melting pot known as GoS Watches comprises of Master Bladesmith, Johan Gustafsson and Master Watchmaker, Patrik Sjögren. Together they create an impressive portfolio of wristwatches reflective of their individual skills and their intimate relationship with the wild beauty of their Swedish homeland.  The company’s mastery of hand-forged Damascus steel, uniquely tempered to achieve extraordinary colour tones, ensures that each piece boasts exclusivity.

The GoS Nordic Seasons series represents the dramatic transformations which occur in the Swedish landscape over the over the course of a year.  For this Nordic Seasons Spring model, a dial brimming with resplendence exemplifies the jubilation experienced when the Scandinavian calendar turns away from darkness to embrace daylight once again.

Each dial is individually crafted in the violent heat of the forge.  This painstaking process during which multiple layers of hard metal is repeatedly fired and tempered, results in an exquisite sliver of material which displays immeasurable subtleties.  Capturing the essence and warmth of Spring, with the slightest movement of the wrist, each nuance of the “Explosive” pattern catches and plays with the light offering the wearer a new combination of contrasts from every angle.  Under such a process, no two dials can, or will, ever be alike.

Providing a perfect frame for this intensity, the handcrafted solid gold index ring is understated yet dramatic.  From the centre, the solid gold hands have been shaped and polished by hand.  In deference to Scandinavia’s ancestral styling codes they each take the form of miniature spears, while the Viking-inspired Triskele-shaped small seconds is a diminutive yet compelling addition.

The piece carries a 45mm case featuring contrasting stainless steel and Damascus steel elements.  Flawless high-gloss polishing achieved by hand enhances its profile.  Paying attention to the minutiae, the GoS name is engraved on the case side while the generous crown has been enhanced with an extra fine-grained Damascus steel pattern.

On the rear side and visible through sapphire, one can admire the purity of design of the Swiss manual ETA 6498 calibre.  Refined and refinished by Swiss company, Soprod, the movement has been improved to Chronometre Grade and will reach a power reserve of 46 hours when fully wound.

The GoS Nordic Seasons Spring watch comes presented on a hand-crafted soft nubuck leather strap fitted with a stainless steel GoS buckle.
