A beautiful hand-crafted timepiece from Britains foremost watchmaking atelier, the S2 Deadbeat Seconds watch by Garrick boasts mechanical sophistication and contemporary refinement. Presented in a 42mm stainless steel case with dial options of guilloché or frosted finishing, the watch is powered by the in-house Garrick Calibre DB-G06 manual winding movement, featuring a Deadbeat seconds complication. Characterised by distinctly English nuances in the signature style of Garrick, the watch displays the company’s in-house free sprung balance on the dial side, together with a power reserve indication and as each piece will be crafted in limited numbers in the company’s Norfolk based workshops, bespoke options enable an exclusive purchasing experience.
The client can choose from two dial options of either hand guilloché or a frosted finish, and with a number of colourways also available, this enables the acquisition of a bespoke and unique timepiece. Beautifully arranged, the outer dial features diminutive numerals and a precision scale, with the power reserve indication slightly recessed at the 2 o’clock position. Discreet flashes of red on the indications adhere to the contemporary styling cues of the watch.
Set within its own generous aperture at the 6, the visual highlight of the dial is glorious Garrick free sprung balance that instantly draws the eye demanding attention as it swings to and fro beneath its meticulously hand finished bridge. Of particular note, Garrick are one of the few ateliers to craft their hands in house, and the hour and minutes hands can be requested with grained, polished or with heat blued finishes. From the centre, the elongated seconds hand features an anchor-shaped counterweight, and as it marks each passing second with a precise jump, it serves as a visual reminder of the complex nature of the watch.
The watch resides in a polished case of 904L stainless steel. Promoting a discreet wrist presence it is sized at 42mm across, with a height of 10mm, and has a flat waist, a rounded bezel, contoured lugs and an onion style crown. On the underside, a sapphire caseback reveals the Garrick DB-G06 in-house movement, which features a Deadbeat seconds complication and which is available with either a gold or silver frosted decoration, the quintessential traditional finish associated with English watchmakers. Fully wound, the hand wound calibre has a power reserve of at least forty five hours with a frequency of 18’000 vib/h.
Each Garrick S2 Deadbeat Seconds watch will made to order, and the model will be exclusively limited in production.
