DEWITT ACADEMIA GMT2 POETIC ROSE GOLD

Having founded his eponymous watch company in 2004, Jérôme de Witt, a descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte could draw upon his own noble heritage in order to create a portfolio rich with distinguished timepieces. Each DeWitt watch is produced in small series or limited edition releases with the emphasis on exclusivity, high quality craftsmanship and artistic inventiveness.

DeWitt showcase their artistic finesse with their Academia GMT2 Poetic Rose Gold wristwatch, transforming the ultimately practical GMT indication into an ethereal work of art.

Visually stunning, the black dial of the GMT2 Poetic wristwatch has been hand-finished with a flawless sunburst guilloché pattern, with splendid open-worked hands and appliqué numerals and indexes. But, the eye is immediately drawn to the superb flame-blued globe which radiates at the 12 o’clock location.

The globe, crafted from “Goldfluss”, a highly frangible synthetic crystal featuring gold and silver-coloured inclusions, has been created as an aid to time-setting of the second time zone, while incorporating a day/night indication. With this unique GMT complication, the second time zone is adjusted by pinpointing its position on the splendid little globe. During the adjustment process the globe turns counter-clockwise and by rotating the vivid central GMT hand the second time zone can be set.

The watch carries an 18-carat rose gold case, framed by the brand’s famous “Imperial Columns” on the case middle, rendered for this model in black rubber.

Inside, a DeWitt DW2002 self-winding calibre beats at 28,800vph, viewable through the sapphire crystal case back.

Brimming with originality, the DeWitt Academia GMT2 Poetic watch is a fusion of neoclassical and contemporary styling and, with its highly original GMT function it is demonstrates the superior technical and artistic virtuosity of the DeWitt Manufacture.
