From the Faubourg de Cracovie chronograph collection by Geneva based Czapek, the Coho is a handsome and beautifully crafted piece, with a striking ‘salmon’ dial whose brassy-gold tones catch the light to captivating effect. Manufactured in an edition of eighteen pieces only, the Coho is one of four special variants of this classic chronograph, with a salmon theme, and each named after a different species.
Featuring a quite spectacular engine turned guilloché dial beneath a box style sapphire glass, with a superb bespoke integrated chronograph movement within, the Faubourg de Cracovie Coho is an outstanding and exclusive piece where uncompromising traditional hand crafted detail and state of the art Haute Horlogerie finesse and innovation combine to create this truly exceptional and exclusive men’s watch.
Specially manufactured for Czapek by Swiss dial maker Metalem, each one is produced in a proprietary alloy of gold, platinum, palladium and silver, with electro plated colouring, and the overlapping and intersecting rings of deeply engraved Résonance guilloché creates a mesmerising pattern which radiates outwards in a ripple from the subdials.
The rhodium plated hands and applied steel hour markers are coated with powerful Super LumiNova and complement the silvery snailing on the recessed subdials which display the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters, while the small constant seconds is displayed at the six, with shared date window.
The stainless steel case of the Faubourg de Cracovie measures 41.5mm across, and features a tall-sided ‘box’ style sapphire crystal, while either side of the crown the chronograph pushers are discreetly integrated and disguised as crown protection.
Through the sapphire glass caseback, the solid gold oscillating mass rotates above the openworked architecture of the anthracite plate of the self winding within. A bespoke collaborative project with complications specialist Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, the Calibre SXH3 is a beautifully engineered integrated chronograph movement, which features linear hammer and vertical clutch innovations which deliver smooth activation and resetting of the chronograph function. Beating at 5Hz, or 36’000vph, it is a COSC chronometer certified movement, and from a single barrel, its 65 hour power reserve is impressive.
A stunning wristwatch in every aspect, the Faubourg de Cracovie Chinook by Czapek Genève is a beautiful and highly exclusive piece from this remarkable Swiss company.
