Czapek Antarctique Mount Erebus Deep Blue Full Yellow Gold

Inspired by the landscape of Ross Island first discovered in 1841 by HMS Erebus where the gold dust infusion within the lava of the world’s most southernmost active volcano creates a glorious spectacle, Czapek have created a wristwatch that is perfectly suited to daily wear, but with its gleaming yellow gold case and integrated yellow gold bracelet, complemented by a dial of deepest blue, has a stunning presence on the wrist.

A thoroughly modern design with sleek lines and a slender profile the 2N yellow gold case measures 40.5mm across with a height of only 10.6mm tall. The wholistic styling of the watch continues almost seamlessly from case to bracelet as the links attach to each other and to the case itself via a series of C shaped elements, with the choice of either a high polish or brushed finish on the links. An integral part of the Antarctique design, the bracelet features a folding clasp.

Manufactured by Metalem who are acclaimed for their artistic acumen and craftsmanship, the dial is rendered in a spectacular shade of deep blue, enhanced with a lamé texture which adds incredible depth to the arrangement. The golden sword shaped hour and minutes hands and the indices are enhanced with lume, and are accompanied by a slender seconds hand, while a date window at the six o’clock completes the layout.

The Czapek Antarctique Mount Erebus Deep Blue Full Yellow Gold watch is powered by the superb SXH5 SXH5 self-winding calibre entirely designed, developed and assembled in-house. Finished to the exacting standards of Haute Horlogerie, it features a darkened sandblasted mainplate, with mirror polishing, anglage and bevelling applied by hand to its components. Visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback, it is a breathtaking display of mechanical architecture, distinguished by its cascading series of skeletonised bridges, and its inner workings and the detailing of the free sprung balance and going train of interconnecting wheels and gears are fully revealed.

Offset and fitted flush onto the main plate to shave excess height off the movement, the energy for the single barrel comes from the 100% recycled solid platinum micro rotor, whose constant free spinning rotations provide the chronometer-rated 28’800 vib/h mechanism with a minimum of 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound.
