Cyrus Klepcys Dice Lime

Presented in an exclusive release of only 10 pieces, the Cyrus Klepcys Dice Lime watch is brimming with striking colour tones. Proof if it were needed that contemporary Haute Horlogerie is anything but boring, this exceptional and profoundly complex timepiece features two independently operated chronographs, whose sophisticated mechanics are exposed on the dial side creating a dynamic display of intricate micro-mechanics.

An independent Geneva based company established in 2010, Cyrus is a brand renowned for its groundbreaking innovations. Under the guidance of one of the most respected master watchmakers of our time, Jean-François Mojon, who is the genius behind all Cyrus watches, the company have continuously pushed the parameters of mechanical watchmaking with their daring designs and novel complications. Presented under the acronym of ‘DICE’, the companys in-house designed and manufactured Double Independent Chronograph Evolution reinterprets the chronograph mechanism for the modern age, and with a dial that is alive with dynamic colour accents, the new Klepcys Dice Lime watch showcases the innovation to superb effect.

Styled to be light-weight and durable, the off-square cushion shaped casing of the watch is manufactured from grade 5 titanium with a polished and brushed finish, and is sized at 42mm diameter, with a height of 16.5mm. Reassuringly complex, it is constructed with no fewer than 26 components and is fitted with two opposing crowns at the three and nine oclock positions, each distinguishable by their green and yellow collars, that correlate with the two chronograph indications on the dial. At the centre of each crown is a monopusher, through which the start/stop/reset modes for the chronographs are operated independently.

Under the gentle convex sapphire crystal, the dial aspect of the watch is of an openworked three dimensional arrangement with green, white and yellow indications that enhance the usability of the functions, and which give the watch a vibrant, contemporary feel. The column wheels for the chronographs are fully visible at the twelve and the six, highlighted with green and yellow respectively. A press on the three oclock crown sets both the chrono seconds hands in motion, along with the 30-minute chrono counter which is displayed on a sapphire disc at the three oclock. As the second timed event begins, the nine oclock pusher activates the count of the yellow hand from the six oclock position, and with both hands measuring different times, the seconds are read via the rehaut around the dial which is marked with green and yellow references.

The hours and minutes are displayed via open-worked rhodium-plated hands with luminous tips. Upon a sapphire dial, and rendered in white, the raised arabic numerals appear to float and with each element lumed to emit a blue glow, readability is ensured. Completing the symmetrical dial architecture, a sapphire small seconds counter at the nine is equipped with a hand which takes the form of a rotating three-armed Cyrus motif.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the self-winding calibre CRY718 is a fully in-house designed and developed movement. Beating at 28800 vib/hour and with a power reserve of 55 hours from a single barrel, the movement features anthracite NAC bridges and the plates and the skeletonised rotor are executed with an immaculate sunray decoration.

Presented in a limited edition of only 10 pieces, the Cyrus Klepcys Dice Lime watch is worn an green Cordura fabric strap secured with a grade 5 titanium folding clasp, with an additional black rubber strap also provided.
