CVSTOS DANI PEDROSA CHRONO

CVSTOS Challenge Pedrosa Carbon

CVSTOS do not make watches for the meek, the introverted nor the faint of heart. Uncompromisingly daring, and even confrontational in-your-face designs sets the pulse racing from first sight. Using groundbreaking high tech manufacturing processes, these bold timepieces push the boundaries of style and watchmaking perceptions in an oversize blaze of carbon fibre, aluminum, skeletonised dials and rubber straps. CVSTOS are big adventurous watches for big adventurous lifestyles.

The CVSTOS Challenge Pedrosa Carbon is no exception to the rule; it’s massive 54mm x 41mm case bristles throughout with cues and details which the MotoGP star would instantly recognize from his day job, including the drilled brake discs which serve as its chrono subdials, the rev counter-styled power reserve indicator, and even down to the handlebar inspired chrono pushers, this is a watch with the rider’s dna deeply ingrained in this continuing association with the man and his sporting legacy.

For the case, a black carbon fibre has been fused with flashes of vivid orange glassfibre during the manufacturing process, creating an almost flame-like appearance, and reflecting the colours of the Repsol Honda Grand Prix Team which have been synonymous with Dani Pedrosa for most of his top-flight racing career. Eight screws bond the tonneau-shaped carbon case to the titanium caseback, with a titanium inner case cocooning the movement within, and again the lightweight metal is used for the crown and chrono pushers,

His signature ‘ninja’ avatar is at the 9, and the trim around those ‘air-cooled’ subdials is reminiscent of the orange wheels on his bike, and the white luminous accents which jut inwards from the edge of the face and white tachymetre scale add further contrasting detail. The overall visual impact is powerfully effective.

From the sapphire crystal down, a plunging descent through the pared back layers of the multi-dimensional dial construction draws the eye on in towards the automatic self winding chronograph movement below. Most visible surfaces have been treated with a matte black pvd coating and with no dial as such, the exposed skeletonised date ring becomes accentuated above a tiny metal panel to display the date at the 3 adjacent to the power reserve display.

To the reverse, the glossy pvd coated titanium caseback is formed to house a large exhibition sapphire window, revealing the tungsten titanium composite rotor and the inner workings of the CVSTOS 577 self winding chronograph movement inside.

The CVSTOS Challenge Pedrosa Carbon is a visually striking medley of composite materials and colour; it is traditional watchmaking technology in a futuristic, outgoing and imposing outfit. It’s a large piece but despite its substantial proportions wears surprisingly comfortably on the wrist. The orange natural rubber strap secures to the watch with a robust bolt and nut, and fastens with an adjustable folding clasp.

For the legions of followers of the Spanish MotoGP racing star, it is the ultimate collectable with an indelible connection to the diminutive Dani Pedrosa.

The watch is supplied brand new in box with full CVSTOS manufacturer’s warranty and all accompanying documentation.
