CVSTOS Challenge Chrono II Brazil Edition

CVSTOS Challenge Chrono II Brazil Limited Edition

CVSTOS do not make watches for the meek, the introverted nor the faint of heart. Uncompromisingly daring, and even confrontational in-your-face designs sets the pulse racing from first sight. Using groundbreaking high tech manufacturing processes, these bold timepieces push the boundaries of style and watchmaking perceptions in an oversize blaze of carbon fibre, aluminum, skeletonised dials and rubber straps. CVSTOS are big adventurous watches for big adventurous lifestyles.

For the summer of 2016, the attention of sports lovers the world over will be trained on the stadia of Brazil, as the country plays host to the Olympic Games, and to mark the occasion CVSTOS have unveiled their pretty spectacular Challenge Chrono II Brazil Limited Edition.

Encased in its massive 53.7mm x 41mm case it is a stunning feast of technical accomplishment, bristling throughout with emblematic details which celebrate emphatically the upbeat green, yellow and blue colours of the Brazilian national flag.

Under the expansive domed sapphire crystal, a bright yellow flange, laid out with tachymetre scale in black print, surrounds the multi-dimensional display. The attention to detail is superb with tiny flashes of colour and beautiful finishing throughout. With much of the movement exposed beneath the stripped-back frame of the dial, there is much to take in. A pair of glossy green rims accentuates the open discs of the 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph counters at the 12 and 6 respectively, with the familiar dark blue starry sky disc bears the Brazilian motto Ordem e Progresso prominent at the 9.

Skeletonised black steel hands with yellow Super LumiNova tips are complemented by individually applied oblique black hour markers with luminous yellow inserts, and bookended by little green ticks. The 48 hour power reserve is displayed by the 3 against an arced counter, and in a little closer to the flange, the date aligns over a light panel to highlight that black numeral in the date window before the exposed ring moves on around the dial.

The black stainless steel case has a very robust feel, its surfaces a contrast of satin finished recesses and finely brushed finishings. The screw in crown is large and tactile, with a yellow rubber insert for optimal grip when adjusting the time or date, and either side the chrono pushers are easy to manipulate thanks to the serrated cut grooves and the generous size of the buttons.

To the reverse, a large exhibition sapphire window reveals the tungsten titanium composite rotor and the inner workings of the CVSTOS 577 self winding chronograph movement inside.

The CVSTOS Challenge Chrono II Brazil Edition is a visually striking medley of craftsmanship and colour; it is traditional watchmaking technology in a futuristic, outgoing and imposing outfit. It’s a large piece for sure, but despite its substantial proportions, and thanks to a comfortable nylon strap, wears surprisingly comfortably on the wrist.

The watch is supplied brand new in box with full CVSTOS manufacturer’s warranty and all accompanying documentation.
