Christophe Claret Maestro

Firmly placed in the upper echelon of Haute Horlogerie, every Christophe Claret timepiece exhibits the quintessential characteristics of a truly Independent watchmaker.

The Christophe Claret Maestro Red Gold Ref DMC16.000-088 is a masterful demonstration of the enthusiasm for unique design which this esteemed individual brings to every piece in his small series portfolio.  Boasting meticulous finishing, complex mechanisms and avant-garde styling, the Maestro collection offers the wearer a luxurious yet contemporary wristwatch experience.

From a resplendent red gold (5N) 42mm watchcase, a generous sapphire domes rises up to reveal a dial of unparalleled uniqueness.

Immediately, the panorama offered by the Master Watchmaker’s distinctive stepped and skeletonized Charles X style bridges and the open-worked barrel is revealed on the upper dial. The visual impact of the darkened flange and black chrome-plated and red anodized aluminium hands for the hour and minutes adds to the resolutely modern aesthetic.

Taking up position at the 7 o’clock location, is a visually stunning golden balance wheel with contrasting red adjustment screws.  Placed onto its bridge, an indication keeps track of the power reserve while, visible just beneath it the regular motion of the escape wheel can be glimpsed.

Elsewhere, Christophe Claret has unleashed his creativity, engendering fascinating, yet ultimately functional indications.

At 5 o’clock the date indication takes the form of a large pyramid-shape, crowned with a vivid ruby.  An open-worked, red-tipped aperture serves to mark the current date, via tens on the upper section of the cone, and units on the lower.  At the end of each day, a visual treat awaits the wearer as it performs a semi-instantaneous jump between midnight and twenty past midnight. Just to its left, is a whimsical little mechanically-powered gadget which serves as a “knot in the handkerchief” reminder.  Adorned with a diamond and a ruby, to alert the wearer of an upcoming event or task, this ingenious “MEMO” function adds a playful aspect to this astounding watch.

Visible through the case back sapphire, the Manufacture manual-wind DMC16 movement displays a supremely modern architecture.  Beating at 21,600vph its twin-series mounted barrels enable a generous 7-day reserve of power.

For the connoisseur who is appreciative of unique aesthetics, the three-dimensional originality of the Christophe Claret Maestro Red Gold watch will be an alluring proposition.  Reassuringly exclusive, this 88-piece edition comes presented on a black alligator leather strap.
