CHRISTOPHE CLARET ADAGIO

With the deep lustre of platinum and spectacle of dazzling baguette diamonds setting this watch out in any crowd, the Christophe Claret Adagio is a unique piece where lavish opulence and great beauty are complemented by one of the master watchmaker’s greatest accomplishments, the minute repeater Grande Complication.

Establishing his first specialist atelier in 1989, and so one of the pioneers of the modern day independent movement, Adagio defines the uncompromising attitude to perfection and sophistication which has earned Christophe Claret and his eponymous brand an undisputed place at the top table of independent watchmaking.

From the Christophe Claret Art Piece collection, Adagio is a musical masterpiece that is absolutely spectacular in its appearance, with a commanding presence. Set into its 44mm platinum case, a flourish of 6.12ct of brilliant baguette diamonds which adorn the bezel and lugs is irresistible to the eye.

Inspired by the music and classical decorative style of the Renaissance period, the watch features exquisite hand engraving around its waist, on its lugs, repeater slider and pushers.

Under the sapphire crystal the dial is made from a single section of dark Oeil de Faucon gemstone, whose dark blue colour shifts in the light. As well as the white gold hours and minutes hands, it has four other clearly defined displays, with grand apertures which are cut into the stone and which curve down to show the big date numerals at the six and the rotating seconds disc at the nine. The secondary dial displays the dual time zone with day/night indicator inset.

On the sides of the case, two pushers either side of the crown advance the second time zone hours and the date, while opposite the distinctive slider activates the minute repeater, whose clear but delicate chimes ring out the hours, quarters and minutes with hammers and cathedral gongs which can be appreciated through the sapphire caseback.

Inside the case, the SLB88 hand winding movement comprises no fewer than 455 individual components, each one created and finished to perfection in house, and fully wound it has a power reserve of forty-eight hours, beating at a leisurely 18’000vph.

An exceptional piece of Haute Horlogerie, with cathedral chimes and a setting which is opulent and exquisitely finished in its every minute detail, the Christophe Claret Adagio is created for the most discerning collector of connoisseur timepieces.
