CHRISTOPHE CLARET ADAGIO MINUTE REPEATER TITANIUM UNIQUE PIECE

With a meticulous, hand-decorated natural Titanium case and an exquisite artisan dial, the Christophe Claret Adagio Minute Repeater Titanium Ref SLB88.908 is an alluring, ultra-complex one-of-a-kind timepiece.

Demonstrating Christophe Claret’s panache for blending technically challenging watchmaking with contemporary aesthetics, this model features a dial fashioned from a single piece of “Oeil de Faucons”.  From the centre, pristine, polished white gold hands serve to indicate the hours and minutes.

Against this rich blue background, three individual, apertures are arranged, allowing ample empty space between them, so the wearer can appreciate the unique, lustrous characteristics of the gemstone dial.

Taking up position at the 9 o’clock location is a running seconds display, with a dual time subdial with day/night indicator between 2 and 3 o’clock.  A digital double date display at the 6 o’clock proclaims the provenance of the piece with Christophe Claret and Adagio branding engraved onto the frame of its generous window.

Complementing the unusual layout of the indications and the ambience of the artisan dial, this piece also features an exceptionally beautiful watchcase.

Sized at 44mm and constructed from natural Titanium, the lugs and the bezel have been hand-decorated with exquisite engraving, featuring a variety of Renaissance-inspired musical instruments.  On closer inspection, one can deduce that the finely worked lute, hurdy-gurdy, tambourine, bagpipes, bombarde and sackbut are from a bygone era, and they provide a whimsical, artistic clue to the melodious nature of this Minute Repeater wristwatch.

Although historically coveted for the usefulness of their audible time-telling,   Minute Repeater timepieces are still highly desirable even in our modern age of digital screen omnipresence.  The unmistakeable mark of an ultra-complex timepiece, today aficionados of Haute Horlogerie find the compelling resonance of their delicate tones irresistible.

Operable via the decorated slider on the case side, the delightful chimes of the minute repeater sound the hours, quarters and minutes with tiny hammers and Cathedral gongs.

Housed within the stunning artisan watchcase, the manual wound Christophe Claret Manufacture SLB88 Calibre beats at 18,000vph.  Composed of 455 parts and 46 jewels, the movement provides a power reserve of 48 hours when fully wound. Fully visible via the sapphire caseback, the intricate architecture of the Minute Repeater mechanisms can also be appreciated.

Demonstrating the finesse and watchmaking prowess of this revered Independent Manufacture, this remarkable Christophe Claret Adagio Titanium Unique Piece is presented on a black alligator leather strap.
