Bell & Ross BRS Officer Black

Bell & Ross BR S Officer Black automatic man’s watch in squared stainless steel case with black dial and steel indicators, featuring date, and presented on black alligator leather strap with tang buckle.

With its bold and distinctive styling, over the past ten years the squared shape of the Bell & Ross Aviator collection has become a design classic, popular with aviation professionals and enthusiasts, and has indeed become a talisman of the brand. Originally designed with the pilot in mind, the watches prioritised functionality and practicality, with the reliability of high grade mechanical movements and robust build quality.

Specifically styled on the instruments used in aircraft cockpits, where clarity and ease of reference are key criteria, the Aviator looks like it would be equally at home among an instrument cluster.

The Bell & Ross BR S Officer sees this collection in a 39mm case; the smallest in the collection. Its brushed steel case with polished bezel and case rims maintains the model’s lineage, but in almost every way, it’s sibling’s impactful design has been toned down to create this more refined piece.

Beneath the sapphire crystal, the black dial has a light catching sunburst sheen, and on its surface, polished steel numerals and indices have been applied. Whereas most Bell & Ross Aviator models have printed references, this detail reflects the classic direction in styling, and this extends to the slender, straight-edged hands, as opposed to the more typical Bell & Ross broad aviator style, although their Super LumiNova coating still ensures crisp legibility, even in low light.

The little round date window between the 4 and the 5 is discreet, and with white digits on a black disc, it’s easily referenced at a glance. Sweeping repeatedly around its tour, the long steel central seconds pointer attests to the mechanical, self winding movement which is closed behind the solid steel caseback.
