Bell & Ross BR03-92 Black Matt automatic men’s watch in squared ceramic case, with black dial and white indicators, featuring date, and presented on black natural rubber strap with tang buckle.
With its bold and distinctive styling, the now familiar squared profile of the Bell & Ross Aviator collection has become a design classic, popular not only the with aviation professionals and enthusiasts it was originally conceived for, but among hordes of watch fans with a keen taste for its cool avant garde appeal.
Originally designed with the pilot in mind, the Bell & Ross ‘instrument’ watches prioritised clarity, functionality and practicality, backed up with the reliability of high grade mechanical movements and robust build quality: attributes which would catch the attention of collectors well beyond its intended market.
The iconic squared case with four retaining screws has become an instantly recognizable signature of Bell & Ross over the years, and indeed it has become a talisman of the brand, and for the BR03-92 this has been manufactured in hard-wearing and scratch resistant ceramic. Bead blasted to a smooth matte finish, its 42mm chassis has a cool and comfortable feel on the skin.
Beneath the round, flat sapphire crystal, the black dial is basic but superbly legible thanks to its binary colours. Pronounced white numerals, indices and broad, pointed hands are perfectly contrasted against the jet black dial, and as the hands are filled with white Super LumiNova it boasts excellent legibility in daylight or low light conditions.
The little round date window between the 4 and the 5 is discreet, and with white digits on a black disc, it’s easily referenced at a glance. Sweeping repeatedly around its domain, the long white tipped central seconds pointer attests to the mechanical, self winding movement which is enclosed behind the ceramic caseback, which is embossed with motif, numbers and technical spec.
Good for 100m underwater, the Bell & Ross BR03-92 is presented on another Bell & Ross favourite, the thick rubber strap, and a robust, black PVD stainless steel tang buckle seats the watch securely on the wrist.
