ARNOLD AND SON NEBULA

An outstanding and thoroughly modern interpretation of the fundamentals of centuries-old classical watchmaking, in every respect, the Arnold and Son Nebula is a quite spellbinding wristwatch with a magnetic personality. Irresistible to the eye in any setting, it is a watch where a swift glance to check on the time becomes a frequent and satisfying appreciation of its captivating horological heart.

With its stripped down dial area revealing a complex mechanical array, Nebula is an exceptional watch which combines the skill and precision of the traditional watchmaker with breathtaking contemporary aesthetics. Brimming with fascinating detail and superb hand finishing throughout, its fully exposed, skeletonised movement captivates with its beautiful architecture and symmetry.

Nebula is presented in a round 41.5mm case of polished stainless steel, with a squat, fluted crown and soldered lugs. Side-on, its profile curves smoothly inwards from the top of its rounded bezel to the rear, where a sapphire caseback completes the see through, three-dimensional view of the movement from above and below.

The dial is pared back to its essentials, and reduced to a black chapter ring around the edge, with applied faceted hour indices which match the hands. If the dial is minimal, what it reveals by being so is anything but. Here, constructed on a single black ADLC treated plate, which has been skeletonised so every aspect and detail of this magnificent mechanism is laid bare. Tiny teeth interlock with each other on the wheels and gears, as the two barrels in the upper portion slowly discharge a 90 hour power reserve to the balance and escapement, which pulses hypnotically at the five o’clock position, with the small seconds immediately adjacent.

Mirror polished screws and chatons with pink rubies, as well as finely polished bevelled chamfering, provide a striking contrast to the brushed surfaces of the NAC treated bell-shaped bridges and the steely sunray finish on the barrels and gears, all set against the black main plate.

The in-house, manual winding manufacture A&S5101 movement is exquisitely finished to Haute Horlogerie standards throughout. A superb piece of modern design and engineering, with the finesse of traditional artisan craftsmanship in every aspect of its execution, it is a celebration of the beauty of the mechanical watch movement in a stunning contemporary setting. Beating at 21’600vib/h from its two barrels it boasts ninety hours of power reserve when fully wound.

The Arnold and Son Nebula is a fabulous and highly individual watch with a compelling presence which impossible to ignore. It is presented on a black hand stitched alligator leather strap with pin buckle.
