ARMIN STROM SKELETON CARBON YELLOW

The Armin Strom Skeleton Carbon Yellow demonstrates the virtuosity of the brand’s superior skeletonised craftsmanship.  However, the desirability of this impressive Pièce Unique is further enhanced by its authentic rarity.

In every respect, this is a timepiece of contrasts.  It carries a generously proportioned 46.8mm rounded case which gives it an instant wrist presence, yet its carbon construction ensures that it wears feather-light.

The high-tech carbon, while giving this piece a stealthy aesthetic also has a gentle, delicate textured surface.   Adding to the robust appearance, the carved notches and symbolic Armin Strom “lip” at the 6 o’clock location ensure that one can be in no doubt of the origins of this exclusive timepiece.

However, dial-side everything changes and one is instantly confronted with the intricate labyrinth of the beating heart and the soul of the piece.

Here, the artisans at Armin Strom have created a full exposé of the movement, leaving behind only what is absolutely necessary.

Revealed beneath the sapphire dial, the compelling panorama of the main plate, gear train bridges and barrel bridges, all of which have been reduced to their bare bones, can be fully appreciated.  Here, the science of watchmaking and the geometry of its components become a work of art in miniature.  This striking showcase of the synergy of the individual parts is one which demands closer inspection, becoming instantly absorbing.

Bringing a contemporary twist to the watch are vivid yellow accents on the branding and on the Arabic numerals which are unique to this individual piece.

At the 9 o’clock location, the power reserve indication combines with a small seconds display.  The contrasting white hour and minutes track is off-set, allowing for a full view of the manual-winding crown mechanism, beneath the sapphire dial.

Now a fully-fledged Manufacture at the upper echelon of Haute Horlogerie,  Armin Strom insist that their calibre components are drilled, milled and turned using traditional methods rather than the less time-consuming stamping approach. Powering this piece is the Armin Strom Manufacture ARM09-S, entirely designed, developed and manufactured in-house.  Twin barrels ensure that it has the longevity of an eight day power reserve, while it beats at a leisurely 18,000vph.

Created for the discerning collector who has a penchant for truly unique wristwatches, the Armin Strom Skeleton Carbon Yellow Pièce Unique watch comes presented on a horn-back alligator strap with co-ordinated yellow hand-stitching.
