Andreas Strehler Papillon

Andreas Strehler is an independent watchmaker with a reputation for technical engineering achievement and highly collectible design quality. In the 24 years since completing his apprenticeship with Renaud et Papi (Audemars Piguet), he’s achieved a number of firsts in watch-making and even won an official Guinness World Record. The papillon visible on the brand’s logo has undoubtedly become the signature of Andreas Strehler.

A combination of rare beauty, technical efficiency and refined finishing makes of this highly recognisable bridge one of the icons of Strehler’s production. In line with the independent watchmaker’s philosophy of less is better, the number of components - as well as their visual impact - is kept at a minimalistic level, transmitting purity, lightness and ability, the same way butterflies have done for million of years, combining their apparent fragility with extraordinary evolutionary perfection.

The finest details are transparently the work of a master at the top of his game, as demonstrated by the power reserve indicator visible on the case-back which, despite an only apparent simplicity, is in fact a technical highlight, incorporating the smallest differential ever presented in a timepiece.

A definite The Limited Edition favourite, this masterpiece mesmerises with the strength of the tiniest details, embodied by the skilled decoration of the see-through movement, featuring circular graining, matt and shiny polishing and perfectly balancing the visual power of the skeletonised movement. Watch it perform and you’ll believe it a living organism indeed.
